2018 is going to be a huge year for me.

Cheesy. Classic. American.

RetroCheeseburger is the creative musical vision of Madison, an eclectic, eccentric and wholesome creative soul. The name "RetroCheeseburger" itself is the result of traveling around the country, playing music, befriending strangers and staying in touch through her instagram name, @RetroCheeseburger and thus becoming known as so.

RetroCheeseburger was raised in a "Corporate Gypsy" lifestyle, living across the country following her Father's career in Automotive Industries. With no place to call her home, she proudly proclaims herself to be simply American, and later a Texan by trade.

Living the lonely life of constant change led her to entertain herself by becoming acutely skilled in many creative mediums. Her musical journey was birthed during the Guitar Hero III era when she picked up the video game and a couple months later received a real guitar for her birthday.

She eventually became a student at The School of Rock, a legendary establishment for the next generation of real rock & rollers. She was given amazing opportunities including being accepted into the Dean's List Band, the (Continental) Summer Tour Band twice, starting an all-female rock band (American Garage) and even did her own fair share of teaching.

RetroCheeseburger has performed with Vaden Todd Lewis of the Toadies, been listed in a festival lineup with Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, opened for The Wallflowers, rocked the same stage as Nirvana at Dallas' Trees, and cruised across the country for weeks at a time playing iconic venues such as The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, House of Blues, and Hard Rock Cafes. She has the commanding stage presence to back up her guitar playing chops and spunky vocals.

Since leaving the School of Rock, RetroCheeseburger stayed active in music by playing gigs anywhere from shredding Jimi Hendrix while rolling around the floor of the Famous Dirty Old Basement in J&J's - to shutting down locals in a beach bar on Ambergris Caye, Belize who didn't believe chicks could rock. She's also been personally serenaded by Billy Gibbons, a huge personal accomplishment, obviously.

Among the madness of an entire decade of rock & roll, she avidly wrote. RetroCheeseburger's multi-medium creative skills thrives among her original music with poetic lyrics, catchy melodies, and driving guitar riffs. Her songs exude an innovative punk Joan Jett-inspired voice, scientifically engaging structures inspired by Chuck Berry, and badass tones influenced by Billy Gibbons.

During the infamous month of March 2020, Madison spent her birthday filing for unemployment from her dream job. As a coping mechanism, she wrote "The Quarantine Birthday Song" and accompanied it with her first ever DIY music video alone in her apartment. Her multi-medium creativity thrived in this scenario. This is when she discovered how to combine her talent and passions of visual art with music. She has released several videos since, and is currently expanding her catalog.

She looks forward to post-pandemic live shows when they return.
